Inspired :: Birds
On our trip to the library the other day, we saw a very large shelf packed full of free books!
We found the loveliest little beaten field guide for North American birds. It inspired us to finally fill our birdfeeder and learn more about birds. Margot can now pick out a cardinal, black-capped chickadee, owl, duck, hawk, pigeon, dove, woodpecker, and a robin!
The book did take a fall yesterday at Chick-fil-a. It was in poor shape, but now it absolutely needs repair.
This has been the favorite page.
We have a fair amount of cardinals in our back yard. We will be watching them more closely now.
Our very generous neighbor came over after seeing us birdwatching and gave us two feeders {one was a suet feeder} and a big bucket of black oil sunflower seeds.

What a wonderful book. I've had my eyes peeled for one of our own. No luck yet...
We have wonderful bird-watching out here! Some rare birds came around last year - painted buntings - look them up in your field guide. Right now we have a pair of cranes that roam the riverside. You will have to see it to believe it ;)
That is so funny that you came across that! I have the same book, I think. Is yours a golden nature book? I will have to find mine and see if it is the same. What a lovely book indeed! So much fun looking through those pages!
